Coaching is an equal partnership; intentionally committed to the person being coached finding clarity, discovering their possibility, and achieving action.

Is coaching like counseling?

No. Coaching is not about your past and present; it is about your present and future, where you want to go. It is focused on clients achieving their goals as quickly and easily as possible.

In what areas do people typically desire coaching?

People hire coaches for many reasons, most commonly personal growth in career performance, career direction, life balance, transition, communication skills, relationships and health. Whether your challenges are professional, personal, or both, a coach's job is to help you identify what is working, where constructive changes are needed, and how to make them happen.

What does a coaching conversation look like?

Each coaching relationship is unique and the format is customized to meet your needs. It is common for people to meet with their coaches weekly, over the phone, for thirty to sixty minutes. You and your coach will talk about what is important to you, and how you can take action that will produce results.

How long would a coach work with me?

The length of time a person is coached depends on the person’s needs or desires. Factors that may impact the length of time include: the types of goals, the ways individuals like to work, the frequency of coaching meetings, and the financial resources available to support coaching.

What is the International Coaching Federation? What is the benefit?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the largest worldwide nonprofit coaching organization. The ICF is the primary governing body for the coaching industry as this industry is not regulated like professions in medicine or psychology. As coaches with ICF, we are held to high standards and are regulated by professionals in the field of coaching. We have agreed to abide by ICF's Code of Ethics and to provide the highest quality of coaching to our clients.
